Bacon Wrapped Water Chestnuts
These are a favorite appetizer at Bo B Q HQ! You get the crunch of the chestnut, the juiciness and saltiness of the bacon and the sweetness of the rub! AND did I mention that they are simple and cheap to make!
To get started, we will need:
2 8oz cans of Water Chestnuts (drained)
1 pound of regular cut bacon (not thick)
Bo B Q Sodium Free Rub (to taste)
Toothpicks (for serving)
1 Foil lined baking sheet
Directions:
Preheat our smoker to 350 degrees.
Season both sides of the water chestnuts with Bo B Q Sodium Free Rub.
Cut bacon slices into thirds
Wrap chestnuts with bacon slices, and place on the baking sheet.
Season the tops with Bo B Q Sodium Free Rub and then secure with toothpick.
Place the sheet on the smoker and cook until the bacon crisps up, approximately 30-40 minutes.
Once the bacon starts to crisp, baste with your favorite bbq sauce (optional).
Remove from the smoker and serve warm!
